What is a job interview?

A job interview is an interview consisting of a conversation between a job applicant and the representatives of an employer which is conducted to assess whether the applicant should be hired. Interviews are one of the most widely used devices for employee selection.

Making a good impression in your interview is key, so being confident and well prepared will greatly increase your chances of making it to the next stage of the recruitment process.

Remember that a job interview is a two-sided conversation. It is the employer’s chance to see if you would be a good fit for their company, but it is also an opportunity for you to understand if the job and the company are right for you and your career goals. An interview normally happens after application and if the employer is interested in finding out more about you.
